Hi there, this is the founder, Gerhart E. Arndt IV. I created this company after working 5 years in the landscape/green industry. My goal in creating Sustainable Land Solutions, is to provide cleaner & more eco-friendly landscape services. I started the business in 2020, the year that we saw our skies clear, we saw more wild life returning, and we were able to breathe easier once we all went into lockdown and pollution significantly dropped.
This was a major wake up call for me to take my personal practices of using all electric outdoor power equipment, using only non-died mulch, and returning fallen leaves to the garden beds, beyond my personal reach. For me, this wake up call spoke to me and said, “I have to spread this to the community. I have to make this more available to others. I have to make a business out of my passion to work towards saving our planet.” My goal is to create a company that not only provides cleaner & more sustainable solutions in this industry, but to spread the education to others about these more sustainable solutions!
Here at SLS, we offer more than just eco-friendly lawn, garden maintenance, and install. We offer a piece of mind. By choosing our sustainably focused practices, together we’re making a difference. We provide wonderful native focused pollinator garden installs, privacy screens, small native tree installs, and compost bin installs. With these installs, we educate and raise the awareness of the importance & impact of choosing native species, of the local ecological impacts of reducing lawn size to increase low maintenance garden size, and to teach families & individuals how to produce and compost their own food right in their backyard! Our installs are about creating the simple endless smiles that visiting butterflies, humming birds, and bees bring. They’re about the joy of picking your own fruit, veggies, & herbs from your garden to say, “I grew this!”
Yes, working towards making a global difference in the fight against human accelerated global warming is a very big ambition. But we all have to do our part to ensure the safety of our environment for the future of our planet. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can learn & grow. Together, we can learn Sustainable Land Solutions today, for a better tomorrow. This is what the true purpose behind creating SLS.
